Job Description

Manager, Business Development (Contract Logistics)

Responsibilities

This position is required to

  • Develop new business opportunities, securing logistics/SCM business that fit and compliment company objectives and plan globally
  • Build strategic working relationships with customers influencing decisions and make sound financial interpretation with a solid knowledge of  products, services, procedures and processes and adds to the companies profitability and strategic direction
  • This role is responsible for end-to-end supply chain and logistics related business within Malaysia and ensuring the delivery of excellence in Logistics services to our customers through the use of best practice.
  • Lead Logistics business development opportunities (tendering, pricing, presentations) based on customer requirements focusing on the FMCG / Retail vertical)
  • Establish target accounts working with KAMO and regional sales to develop business for Logistics/SCM
  • Perform requirement discovery exercises with customers
  • Qualify inquiries/bids against target market, core competency, revenue and profitability potential, company capabilities and strategy. Develop saleable and cost effective solutions
  • Demonstrate ability to identify gap analysis of the current services at customer site and build scope of work for customer requirements
  • Assist in RFQ process to include solution design concepts, deadlines, supply added information, presentation, and process/status tracking
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with customers in accordingly to higher management directives and guidelines

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Development, Sales and/or Solution Design & Implementation, preferably in 3PL
  • Exposure to complex account sales & management
  • Expert product and industry knowledge coupled with the ability to deal with clients at all levels and translate client needs into a complete solution
  • Costing, pricing and modelling experience
  • Process mapping and system analysis
  • Tertiary qualification eg. Marketing, Accounting or similar. Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain, Business Administration or MBA
